How to Clean Your Shower Screen
Shower screens are an important feature of any bathroom. However, they can become subject to marks and mould if not cleaned correctly. There are many ways that you can clean your shower screen. The method that you choose may depend on the products that you have readily available and whether your shower screen is dirty or has limescale. If one method does not work, there are other options that you can try.
Detergent
One way that you can clean your shower screen is to use a mixture of household detergent and water. You can use a scrubbing brush or cloth to wipe this over the surface of the shower screen. This can be used to wipe away basic layers of dirt.
Baking soda and vinegar
Another method of cleaning your shower screen is to use baking soda on a cloth over a wet shower screen. You should then apply a small amount of white vinegar to the screen. This will remove the baking soda. Then wash this away with warm water.
Vinegar
If there is a tough build-up of minerals on your shower screen, you can cover the shower screen with vinegar. This can be left for a while, and it should be kept on the screen longer if there are a lot of these on the screen. You should then rub the vinegar off the screen with a towel or cloth.
Lemons
If the shower screen is surrounded by a metal frame, mix lemons and salt together. Apply this mixture to the frame using a toothbrush in order to clean the frame. This should then be wiped off with warm water.
Shower cream
You can purchase a shower cream to clean your screen. The cream should be applied to a cloth and then wiped over the glass. The screen should then be rubbed with a damp cloth. Dry the screen with a cloth or paper towels. You can also use shower cream on your bathroom tiles. Shower cream can be bought in bulk for hotels.
Window cleaner
Window cleaner can also be used to clean your shower screen. Run water over the screen to wash away any loose dirt. Apply the window cleaner to the screen. Use a sponge or squeegee to spread the cleaner across the screen and then wipe it away. This will remove any marks on your screen.
Resistant glass
Some shower screens will be fitted with a resistant glass. This glass is less likely to become covered with limescale, and it can be cleaned less regularly than traditional glass.
